Our (Casey and my) best friends went on a cross-country road trip and this weekend they made their final stop at our house. We were so glad they were able to fit us into their itinerary and we had a wonderful weekend hanging out with them.
They got here late afternoon on Thursday and we just lounged around, them telling stories of their awesome journey. On Friday, we spent time at the condo, playing cards, having a few beverages, and then late Friday night, we drove into DC for Adams Morgan pizza. Our guy friend, Will, had wanted to do that since they first made plans to stop here… before their trip even started!
On Saturday, we slept in and then went to an Oktoberfest at the Doner Bistro in Leesburg. After that, we did some more chilling at the apartment, playing cards, drinking more beverages. Then we went into Fairfax for dinner and dancing.
It was absolutely gorgeous outside on Saturday, though a little windy, but Sunday blew that weather away… no pun intended. It was absolutely beautiful outside and we enjoyed it with a trip out to Skyline Drive.
After we got back, we just lounged around eating leftovers and watching TV. We were all so pooped, some dozing happened as well I think. Finally, it was time for bed and then they got up early and left this morning, making the final leg of their trip to Vermont.
I am so thankful they were able to stop and spend the weekend with us. They are the bestest of friends and as always, we laughed until we cried, told fun stories, and just had a great time.
I can’t wait to see them again at Thanksgiving!
