Saturday was a beautiful day. Casey went to the driving range in the morning and returned to say we just couldn’t spend the rest of the afternoon inside. I agreed, so we decided to take a drive.
Windows down, music loud, chit chatting over the center console and over the tunes, we drove down to Ikea to get Baby Abel a crib.
As we were walking around the kids section, we looked at a few of the toys and Casey was checking out an abacus when I said, “how about one of those?”
I was pointing to a bead maze/bead roller coaster, or the Ikea version, Mula. Casey said, “Yeah, I used to rock one of those at the dentists office.” Even though he followed up by asking if it was a little advanced for a baby, that first remark was enough for me. Whenever he says something about when he was a kid, it automatically touches my heart and makes me think our little guy should experience it too.
Once we had it home and put together, he reminisced immediately about how he used to see how fast he could get a bead from one side to the other. So although our little guy wont be able to maneuver it for some time, I hope he enjoys it as much as Casey obviously did the one of his childhood.
