God Blessed Texas

100_2163

Casey and I are on the road.  We are headed to Texas for the wedding of one of his cousins, pit stopping in Nashville and Memphis along the way.

Tonight we’ll be in Nashville, one of our favorite cities.  We’re meeting up with our friend Heather for dinner and then hopefully we’ll have the energy to hang out at a honky-tonk or two before bed.

Tomorrow Casey will finally get Memphis barbecue.  We’ll probably arrive early enough for lunch and then enjoy some walking around Beale Street and maybe other to-be-decided touristy stuff, as energy allows, before dinner.

On Friday, we’re headed from Memphis to just outside Dallas, TX.  We’ll meet up with family that night and on Saturday enjoy the morning with family, maybe checking out Dallas a bit, before attending the wedding in the afternoon and celebrating in the evening.

On Sunday, we hope to get up and have breakfast with family before heading back to Nashville, where we’ll stay one more night before making our way back to Virginia on Monday.

It’s going to be a lot of driving, but that will not put a damper on the trip.  Casey is excited to finally get me to Texas, a place he’s wanted me to visit for years and years.  I’ll add two new states to my visited list and he’ll add one.  Plus, we’ll get to visit Nashville again, a city we absolutely loved last year.

I’m sure next week will require serious recovery from such a busy weekend, but it’s going to be so worth it.
