Abel doesn’t sleep in our bed. It’s a pretty much unspoken agreement that Casey and I aren’t really into cosleeping. We do, however, enjoy bringing him into our room for a snuggle once in awhile, namely on Sundays after his morning nap.
And maybe on a Wednesday when he decides to take a short afternoon snooze and I decide some more quiet time would be nice, for both of us. So I bring him in with his blanket and cuddle up next to him.
He doesn’t sleep, but makes sweet faces at me and chatters in his own little language. The windows are open to let the fresh spring air in and the light through the blinds casts a comforting glow.
Lots of days I let him make a little noise in his crib until he dozes off again or bring him out to play on the floor. So this snuggle was a special one, made all the more so by it’s intentional rarity.
