5 Years, 1 Month, 2 Days

I have been blogging for five years.  And one month and two days.  I thought I started in August after Casey and I got engaged, but it turns out I started in late July.

Looking back over old posts today, I am inspired – by the stuff that’s changed, the things I’ve done and places I’ve gone, but also by the things that have stayed the same, the good stuff that continues and the things that I’m still working on and through.

I am thankful for all of it and for being able to look back and see what has happened in the last five years.  I got engaged, planned my wedding, got married, and had a baby.  I bought my first home.  I celebrated weddings, births, holidays, and anniversaries.  I traveled, by plane and by car – to the Caribbean, to Colorado, to Tennessee, to Texas.  I joined my family in starting an annual camping trip.

I enjoyed day trips and afternoon teas and completing projects.  I sorted and purged and reorganized my stuff, my house, my life.  I painted and sewed and doodled.  I baked and nested and kept house.  I enjoyed visits home to Vermont and learned to be happy in my life in Virginia.

All of that is just a taste of what has filled my life and these pages of mine here in blogland over the last five years.  It has been full and wonderful, to live it and to look back on it, and to be moved to live the next five years, and beyond, even more fully and with more meaning and perspective and gratefulness.

And of course, thank you to those who have read along the way and continue to check in.  Although I mainly write for myself, I am glad to have the support of your readership!
