Check yo'self.

Well, in this case, I checked my'self. Last night before I went to bed, I was thinking about the blog posts I've done the past few days about how busy I've been and therefore how blah and exhausted I've felt and therefore how unproductive I've been when I get home.

When I got in bed, I proceeded to journal that all that is crap. Well, mainly that the excuse that I'm tired because work was busy and therefore I didn't feel like doing anything when I got home is crap. It is totally not "Pie and Apron Life" of me to be that way, and so I checked my'self and decided I would get back on the Pie and Apron wagon today.

I did pretty well. When I left work, I said a little prayer that when I got home I would be motivated and determined to avoid sloth. This is something my Mom suggested in our e-mail talks today and I agreed it's a great idea. After all, with God, all things are possible.

So I got home, made a yummy dinner, and set to working on finishing the project I started last night. Of course tonight is Bible study night, so I only had so much time to do it. This was helpful because it made me more eager to push myself and get it done.

Below is a picture of what I was working on. I'm not exactly sure I like it yet, but change often takes some getting used to before adoration can develop.
The large frame is from Luckett's. It was $6. It used to have glass, but it sadly got broken in the trunk on the way home the day I got it. I thought about painting it white, but decided to leave it for now. The two small frames are from Michaels and were on sale for $3.99 a piece. The print is 12x12 scrapbook paper and the matting in the large frame is just poster board. Oh! And the small covered pillows (brown fabric) are the ones I finished a couple weeks ago- my first attempt at pillow covers and I love them!

The guest room continues to be a work in progress. I'm glad to mostly have a handle on it (the filing system is still causing trouble) and as I get back into the Pie and Apron swing of things, I look forward to continuing to develop the space into a place I love to work and play in. Finished projects help.

i love it too! especially the triple prints over the bed. another thing to try to give you a different perspective of the room is to move the furniture.... maybe the bed on the opposite wall? when you have time of course!
Love, grama
