We were lucky not to get struck as hard as other areas in Sandy’s path, but since there was no way of knowing that in advance, Casey’s company took the precaution of having employees work from home the past two days. I am quite sure he got extra work done since he had a little helper to sit in his lap some of the time. The part where the little helper threw his highlighter and pen with expectation of retrieval was especially productive.
Although the last two days have flown by and Casey spent the majority of them glued to his computer and that dining room chair, it’s just been nice to have him home. Those few moments Abel sat in his lap are a few moments they wouldn’t usually get together, not to mention a few moments of respite for me. Plus we get to have lunch together, which is always lovely… even if we spend it in front of the TV.
