Maybe it’s cliché to talk about gratitude in November. It’s a popular topic with a holiday of thanks built right into the month. But gratitude has been on my mind for more than just the last five days. I’ve been praying about it and thinking about it, contemplating if thankfulness and gratitude are really interchangeable, and trying to define what gratitude, and living a grateful life, means to me.
One of the other things I’ve been doing is pretty standard action in the gratitude world and that is to list some things I’m grateful for at the end of every day. My minimum is three items a day (as inspired by Ann Voskamp at A Holy Experience), though I’m hoping to add in a few extra here and there to make it an even hundred by the end of the month.
I’ll be listing my gratitude here. Please feel free to join me – list your items in a comment or just keep them to yourself somewhere. I hope you are inspired to look into your every day and find the parts that make it more than ordinary. Even the simplest moment can be a force of good, and how powerful it can be to live each day recognizing with gratefulness even the smallest of gifts.
