Because that's what I was like most of today- a chicken with my head cut off, running around and bumping into things.
Well, the bumping into things is figurative, but seriously, the first part of the work day was crazy and I swear I was doing a bunch of things at once for most of the morning. Fortunately, I was in a pretty good mood and by the time lunch rolled around, things were slowing down.
Of course, then quitting time came and it was time to come home, where there is still plenty to do before we travel north. I didn't get as much done this weekend as I would have liked, but that's pretty typical. My to-do list isn't looking too scary though, so I'm sure I'll be able to manage everything before we leave.
I've got a good start and taking it one item at a time is important or I might go crazy! Today I mailed off most of my Christmas cards and have just a few left that need addresses and will be mailed tomorrow, I wrapped a few gifts, and I made peppermint bark for day two of the Holiday in the Break Room at work.
I could be feeling stressed, but mostly I'm just feeling blessed. It is, after all, the most wonderful time of the year and it's better to be busy at a job than not have one and to have to prepare for a trip than not be able to go at all. The days are often a whirlwind, but I'm holding on tight to what's important. I hope you're able to do the same this Christmas season.
