My wedding day was absolutely beautiful. The planning and preparation was a labor of love, and oh how love abounded! I was surrounded by family and friends during the days before the wedding, all eager to help make the day as special as could be. They stripped and conditioned 400 roses, arranged those roses into centerpieces, corsages, and boutonnieres, carted stuff from the house to the tent, ironed tablecloths, set up tables, and so much more. I could never thank them enough for all that they helped do. Because of all their hard work and preparation, the celebration of our wedding and reception were beyond anything imagined or intended. There was laughter and cheer and I could not have asked for a more beautiful representation of the love of my family and friends.
Now, three weeks later, with the wedding day accomplished and therefore no more wedding planning and preparation to do, I find myself with time. Time to do basically whatever I want! I plan to use that time for creativity and home-making... and creative home-making. I am hoping to bring life back to this blog with stories and inspiration from my experiences as a young wife and newlywed who desires almost traditional domesticity, but who also works outside of the home and has the ability to express herself creatively through a variety of projects (such as writing and scrapbooking).
So with my paintbrush/pen/scissors/camera/laptop in one hand and my Swiffer/broom/vacuum/dish rag in the other, I say cheers to the opportunity to be creative, to care for another, to marriage, and to life!
