Oh how I miss college!

I went to Mason to hang out while Casey was in class tonight. I just love walking around campus and it makes me miss being in classes there. Maybe I'm the only weirdo who liked college for the classes, but it was the best part for me. And the atmosphere of the campus, that part is great too. Everyone is bustling around to classes about all sorts of things. It's cool to be surrounded by people who are expanding their knowledge in so many directions- from photography to religion, philosophy to accounting, criminal justice to art history, and so on. If I could afford it, I'd totally be a student for... well, forever. Haha. Fortunately, there are plenty of free resources out there that allow me to learn about whatever I want. I have a long list of things I want to learn about- hopefully soon I'll build a bit of self-education into my life so I can check some of those things off.

I took some pictures while I was walking around in the fading light on campus. I'm really interested in textures and shapes right now. Inspiration for creative projects that someday I hope to share, but for now will keep to myself to simmer and develop. I'm also still learning to use the camera I bought before the wedding. It was a big purchase and I hope to get better with it through lots of practice.

I took this one as a landscape photo, but the shadows look way cooler when I switch it to portrait- almost as if the stairs overlap. Please don't focus too much on my strange looking thigh though.

Tomorrow is Friday and the beginning of a busy weekend. Work, Casey's first physical therapy appointment, and dinner at my aunt&uncle's tomorrow. Overtime work at the Fall Festival and traveling to Philly on Saturday. Family time in PA on Sunday. Back to VA on Monday, as well as hopefully getting a haircut. I'm sure I'll have lots of chances to play with my camera some more- both at the Fall Festival and in PA. I'm especially looking forward to hanging out with my parents and sister- time with them is sparse, so any I can get is cherished.
