I am officially without my wisdom... teeth.
I went in for my appointment and was pretty nervous... honestly, almost to tears nervous. I got in the chair in the operating room and they started getting me all hooked up to the machines. The doctor came in and stuck the laughing gas mask on and I didn't start laughing, but things did get floaty... like, you could try to focus on something but you can't quite do it. Then it was time for the IV. I was kind freaking out inside, almost to tears again, but I kept a positive attitude as best I could. The nurse explained everything as she did it and soon enough it was over. Just a prick/pinch with the needle and the IV was in. I made it!
Then I woke up and the whole thing was over. Ha! Now that is the best part. In a chair with an ugly hat and a temperature monitor stuck to my forehead, then in the recovery room with Hubby smiling at me. I don't think I was being as silly as he had hoped in my doped up state. And I don't look too much like a chipmunk- at least not yet. He's taking good care of me though, making sure I'm taking my meds on time and that I have enough to drink and eat... even though all I've been eating is pudding, yogurt, and soup. For a girl who loves to eat, this isn't going to cut it much longer. Aw well, I don't want make my recovery take longer than it's supposed to, so I'll stick to the soft stuff at least 'til the end of today- then tomorrow I'm trying something like macaroni. Ooo, macaroni! Ha, wow, I like to live on the edge.
Oh, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I must say that if you want to make sure you aren't going to gorge yourself on candy on this particular "holiday," make sure to get your wisdom teeth taken out the day before. Works like a charm... unless you bought the candy early and ate a bunch before your surgery. I didn't do that... well, I didn't eat a BUNCH at least.
Have a great weekend!
