I think that handwriting, and the letters and notes that come with it, is kind of a dying thing. E-mail and electronic messaging have kind of taken over, which I think is sad. I really love getting "snail mail," especially handwritten notes or letters.
I've been trying to handwrite more things, especially thank yous... unless of course I speak to the person, which is even better. Woo, vocal conversations! These are an amazing thing that seem to be dwindling in presence as well.
So for my birthday thank yous, I'm sending some loved ones handwritten love notes of thanks. It's a simple gesture that I think means a lot more than an e-mail. Plus, I love the opportunity to draw or doodle a unique card. I rarely buy pre-designed cards and often will doodle at least the text on the outside of the card.
I hope that the receiving party enjoys this small thing as much as I do. And if not, at least I've done my part to keep this "old-fashioned" phenomenon of handwriting alive.
Happy Thursday!
