Perks.

My sister has definitely had her ups and downs since she graduated from college, but right now she's doing pretty well- at least in my opinion. She's got two jobs- one at Ford's Theater and one at the box office of the Washington Performing Arts Society.

The latter of these two jobs has a major perk: she can get comp tickets to various shows. Last night we cashed in on this perk and went to see The Chieftains at the Kennedy Center.
There is a "Hall of Nations," which has large flags of all the nations hanging from the ceiling.
Right now the "Hall of Nations" also exhibits women's clothing of the Arab world. It was really amazing to see.
The concert hall had a really cool ceiling...
And beautiful pipes at the front.
It was a great experience to go to the Kennedy Center for the first time and the Chieftains, of course, were amazing. I teared up during the very first song as Paddy Maloney played the uilleann pipes, but I promise I composed myself as the night went on- through the pipes, flutes, amazing Gaelic singing, traditional step dancing, Ottawa Valley dancers, and even performances by the U.S. Coast Guard Band.

I'm so thankful for my sister's perks and that she's able to "get herself on her feet" doing something she enjoys.

Blessings and Happy Tuesday!
