On Saturday night while we were in Vermont, we had dinner at the apartment of our bestest friends. We’d like to consider it a first annual Friendsgiving… though that title is kind of trite!
My dear friend made pizza for dinner – one sliced mozzarella with basil and tomatoes and one pepperoni and pineapple. She was disappointed with the crust, but we devoured it. Because it was really freakin’ tasty, crunchy crust and all.
After dinner we played dice and cards. For hours. And it reminded us of old times, when we were in college and would stay up until the early morning hours doing the same thing.
Except now we’re two married couples. And the stories we tell have multiplied and the music in the background has changed a bit. The choice of beverages is still pretty much the same though – except for delicious mulled cider, which was new to some, but enjoyed by all!
It was a great start to what I hope will become a long-standing tradition, one which I can’t wait to live near enough to host!
