Happy New Years Eve!

I hope everyone is able to enjoy a hopeful celebration tonight, whether quietly at home or out at a fancy party. May your new year be filled with many blessings and much thanks!

Aw, you missed me, you really missed me!

I took a sick day today. I went to bed early last night and slept in very late. I then made my way to the recliner where I spent the day watching movies. I feel sufficiently rested and my cold has mostly gone away.

While I was lounging, Lucy shared some love by cuddling with me. It was almost as if she missed me while I was gone and wanted to make up for it be staying nearby.

Tomorrow it's back to the daily grind. I'm actually looking forward to it. There's tidying to do around the condo and plenty of other things to be working on. Accomplishing things will make me feel tons better and the remainder of this cold will be gone in no time.

Recovery and Preparation

We're back in NoVa and are recovering from a grand trip home to Vermont... as well as trying to make it through some crummy head colds.

We shared in several celebrations of Christmas, including the ones that correspond with the following Christmas trees...

At Meme and Grampa's house on Christmas Eve, followed by a delicious dinner...

At Hubby's parents' house on Christmas morning followed by lunch and another tree at his aunt's house...

And at my parents' house on Christmas night, followed by dinner and games.....

Now that the Christmas celebration is over, I've begun to think about the New Year and make preparations. Last year I made a list of things I'd like to accomplish and did pretty well at doing much of it. This year I'm much more focused and look forward to what the year has to offer.

Christmas Eve x 2

I spent the day around the house working on the last of my handcrafted gifts. I've got just a couple more to complete, but that shouldn't be hard to do before lunch tomorrow.

We were visited by some turkeys in the afternoon. They came and snacked on the bird feed that the birds let fall to the snow.Dad went Christmas shopping in the morning, but came back in the early afternoon and set up the tree. I've got the lights and gold bead garland on and we'll put ornaments up after we pick up my sister tonight.

This is Smudge's first Christmas tree experience. So far she's just smacked at the branches a bit and got some running starts to slide into the tree skirt.

The next few days will be busy with celebrations and I'm so ready. I love being home and sharing in the giving with friends and family. I hope you are blessed with wonderful moments with your loved ones as well!
