Friday the 13th...

I didn't get to post on Friday or Monday because I was in Vermont for the long weekend. Yes my parents have a computer, but I decided to wait because I didn't have my camera cord and their desktop was acting funky. So seeing as my weekend was four days and there are four days to the work-week this week, I'm going to post for the four weekend days on each of the work-week days.

Was that a tongue twister, or do you get what I'm saying?

Anyways, I flew up to beautiful VT on Friday the 13th. I was not afraid because I'm not superstitious. Actually, I had a very relaxing travel day. When we got over Vermont, just about to the airport, the view out the window was rather breathtaking.

I got home just a bit before Mom got out of work and when she came through the door she had a surprise for me. She was carrying a box of flowers and I was like, "who got you flowers?" because my Dad had already purchased and given her a beautiful dozen red roses. She said I needed to come look. So I looked at the address label and it had my name and her name on it with her work address.

I proceeded to open up the box (which Mom had already peeked into because it had her name on it too!) to find beautiful red, white, and pink roses and a note that said something along the lines of: "to my beautiful wife and my wonderful mother-in-law." My Hubby had struck again, this time with something sweet for both me and my Mum! She loved it, I loved it, he's good at what he does. :)

Mom picked out a few to put on her kitchen windowsill above the sink:
And I arranged several vases- two for the upstairs bathroom that I use when I visit...

And a smaller one, in a cute little milk bottle, for next to my bed.

Later on Friday night Mom and I enjoyed the company of Grama, Aunt Beth, cousin Sam and baby Logan, and family friend Kelly. Dad retreated upstairs to watch TV while the ladies enjoyed some fondue and a casual viewing of Mama Mia. We chatted throughout the movie and had an awesome time. The cheese fondue (with dipping items such as tomato tortellini, yummy breads, ham, and broccoli) was supplemented with an awesome green salad with homemade vinaigrette, dried cranberries, and walnuts. It was YUMMY.

There was some sweet stuff involved too- both chocolate fondue (with pound cake, marshmallows, and strawberries for dipping) and also baby Logan, who was (per usual) a highlight of the evening.

Friday was a great start to an awesome weekend. More to come about Sat-Mon on Wed-Fri!

Happy Tuesday!
