Saturday, February 14th

On Saturday, Mom and I travelled to Quechee and had lunch of breakfast at The Farmer's Diner. On a nice sunny day during a holiday weekend, there was a wait, but it was totally worth it. The Diner is a supporter of local farms and most of their ingredients are fresh from local/Vermont businesses. I think this showed in the taste of the food and I greatly enjoyed my scrambled eggs, maple-cured bacon, and pancakes with the only kind of syrup there should be (aka the real kind).
I also loved drinking from mason jars. They are one of my favorite kinds of cup.
Later, after browsing an antique "mall" for several hours (prizes shown way below), we went into a nearby city to shop at a store of the company my Mom works at, to pick up some Valentine's chocolate for Pa, and once we decided, also to pick up pizza for dinner.

At the mall where we picked up chocolate, I found this birdy hiding in the wood floor and decided to take it's picture.
At the antique "mall" where Mom and I wandered, we saw many treasures. I ended up with four small aqua tumblers, two of each design, and two dinner sized fire king jadite plates. I have loved jadite for a long time (even more so after seeing Pioneer Woman's collection!) and was so happy to find a couple in my price range. I am not the type who desires perfection in such pieces, which is why I was patient and ended up finding a couple for a good price. I will be adding them to my everyday dinnerware and will enjoy them with each use while dreaming of owning a few more pieces as time goes by and my budget allows.

To end the day, Mom and I brougth home the pizza and popped in a movie, Made of Honor. Dad enjoyed the pizza with us and occaisionally the movie as well- in between trips to the shop where he is building Mom an armoir/linen closet/furniture I'll no doubt have to avoid jealousy over.

It was another great day and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to do a bit of treasure hunting with my Mum. I can't wait to do some more this summer!

Happy Wednesday!
