I bought some fresh flowers for the guest room for when Mom and Grama visited this past weekend. Now that their visit has ended, I didn't think it made much sense to leave the flowers in the guest room because I don't go in there much and certainly not enough to enjoy the flowers. So last night I took them out of their initial arrangements and split them up to put in places around the house where I'll actually see them and be able to enjoy them. (Below is one of two initial arrangements by the bed in the guest room.)
The first stop is the stove top (nice rhyming skills, huh?) where the lilies have found a place in some cleaned up hot sauce bottles.
Now we move into the master bathroom, right next to my sink, where the red carnations and what I think may be purple aster (??) have made themselves lovely and ready to greet me with their freshness and color in the morning.
I'm not usually a big carnation fan, but I love how they look all bunched together.
The final flowers aren't real, fresh flowers, but rather flowers on the tablecloth in the dining room! I changed my centerpiece last night and felt like sharing... even though I'm not sure when the last time was I showed the prior centerpiece, so you don't really have anything to compare it to.
Anyways, the centerpiece I had before was too dark, in my opinion, for the summer and sunshine. This is a lot brighter and goes well with the two tablecloths I use the most, the one shown and the one from my wedding (which has aqua, red, and green).
I'm all for doing nice things for yourself. After all, if we aren't nice to ourselves, how are we going to treat others?
Hmm, maybe you should do something nice for yourself this weekend. :)
Blessings and Happy Friday!

I like the new centerpiece. Better than the one before. Love the blue plate....
What a nice way to keep enjoying them. I'm with you on the carnation thing, alone not so great...clumped together they can be just lovely.
