Our trip this past weekend was filled with time outside, enjoying some sunshine... and a little rain too. Our first stop when we got to RI on Friday was a sentimental place my family refers to as "crashing rock."

On Friday night we went to Watch Hill and just caught a bit of sunset before it started to pour rain.

On Saturday, before my aunt's birthday party, the girls (Mum, Sister, Aunt, and Cousin) went for a nature walk while the boys (Dad and Hubs) went to play golf. The place we camped at is where my Mom and Aunt used to go a lot when they were kids and they had hoped to spot some places on our walk that they remembered from their childhood. I'm not sure they really did that, but it was still great.
I could have sat on this dock for the rest of the day... though I wasn't even supposed to be there at all because it was actually a private deck and beach. Aw well, I got some great pics and then wandered back out of there.

A lot of the walk was through the woods. There was lots of green, in the leaves on the trees and on the ground where moss grew on rocks. The red blaze on that tree marked the trail we were on.

It was really hard to come back to the city and traffic and indoor living after being out in the great outdoors, but I am so thankful for an awesome weekend and the opportunity to spend some time away from it all.
Blessings and Happy Tuesday!
