King George

Hubs and I, and some friends, went to the second concert of the summer on Saturday night. The opener was Julianne Hough, but we missed her because we were busy standing in the potty line.

Sadly, I'm not kidding.

Fortunately we made it in to our first spot before the second act, which was Blake Shelton. He sings a lot of songs I really like and he performed Hubs' favorite part of the whole concert: "Ol' Red."
Here's the Hubs and I all in love (aww barf, as my friend Flower would say) before moving closer to some other friends at our second and final spot of the evening. Lawn seats are wonderful this way- if you don't like where you're at, just pick up and go.
We had a grand time in our second spot- Hubs even danced with me a bit, which pretty much never happens. I loved and cherished every second of it!
Finally it was time for the King of Country himself, Mr. George Strait (unless you ask my dad, who says the it's Alan Jackson).

We ended up listening to about half of George's performance in the rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits (no pun intended). We had a great time, though Hubs decided that he's not really into George- at least not his concert style.
I do admit my own disappointment in Mr. Strait in the fact that he did not sing "Carrying Your Love with Me." I mean, how can he not sing that- it's classic Strait!?!?!
Even without his classic song, it was a great show. George played tons of songs, letting people enjoy the music without a lot of stage banter- which I appreciated, though I think that's part of the reason Hubs wasn't impressed. Apparently I'm married to a little kid who needs lots of flashing lights and screen antics.

Aw well, at least he danced with me!

Blessings and Happy Tuesday!
