Dining Table Dress Up

Okay, so I decided I wanted to try my hand at Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Between Naps on the Porch. I don't know what made me want to do this as my husband and I are not much for eating at the table (though I wish we did so more) and when we do, it's not that fancy.
Typically the table just has a tablecloth on it with a simple centerpiece. I actually really love tablecloths, particularly vintage ones, so though we don't eat at the table much, I do take enjoyment in seeing it adorned with a pretty tablecloth.

Tonight, however, in an effort to participate in Tablescape Thursday (which is actually quite daunting as a newbie compared to the veteran tablescapers), I dressed things up a little bit more.
I am in love with this tablecloth. I bought it from Snowy Creek Designs on Etsy for $18 (plus $1 shipping- reduced because I bought a second item), which is a wonderful price for something I love so much and that is in such good condition.
The centerpiece is a staple of my typical table set up (like I said, it's usually just that and the tablecloth). A table just doesn't look right to me without something at the center.
All of the dishes were wedding gifts and are from Target, including the platter used in the centerpiece. Aqua is one of my favorite colors, so that's probably why my heart flutters a bit with the table set with these pieces.

I think the birds are from Pier One and are actually salt and pepper shakers. My Mom has the same set and loves them as much as I do.

The placemats are from either World Market or The Christmas Tree Shop and the napkins are by Anichini.
This activity was a bit random, but I really quite enjoyed it.

Now if I could only get my husband to sit down to eat at the table with me instead of in front of the TV....

Blessings and Happy Thursday!

P.S. My Learn Something New pages will be shared tomorrow... I thought about doing two posts today, but I'm actually not done with today's page, so I'm going to wait.

Beautifully done! I can't wait to sit at your table and maybe steal your tablecloth when you aren't looking......

I can't coax my husband to the table either -- Oh well, at least there are no spills on your lovely vintage tablecloth -- I LOVE vintage linens!

Welcome to TT, I've only been doing it a few weeks myself. You've done a great job with yours. I love the colors, and the vintage tablecloth is so pretty.

I wish I could tell you that this weather was more "normal" for this time of year -- but unfortunately last week was the more usual around here -- added to high humidity and it makes for a miserable climate from the end of June until mid September! It's also highly unusual that we didn't hit triple digits for a few days. Where did you live before?

Do you miss the snow of Vermont? I'm afraid at this point in my life - I would take the heat over snow -- but, I would love to go there sometime in the fall.

Great tablescape. I love the colors. And I love that tablecloth. Truth be told, we rarely eat at our table. My tablescapes are pure show. I wish we ate at the table, but everyone prefers the TV.

ooooooo; I love those colors. The tablecloth is BEautiful!!! The color combinations you have used are so pleasing to the eye....and who doesn't just adore birds. Very nice. You can get your hubby to eat at the table by putting the tv as a centerpiece , HA!

My tablescape is at my cottage blog which is at:
