No more Mentadent.

Once upon a time, about three and a half years ago, a boy and a girl moved into their first apartment together. As with most moves, there was a combining of stuff and a deciding of things like what to stock the fridge and cupboards with, what to use for toilet paper, and whose toothpaste they would keep using and whose would be lost to budgeting.

Seeing as the girl wasn't that attached to her brand of toothpaste, they began happily to use Mentadent in the push down dispenser.
This use of Mentandent went on for said three and a half years until one night the girl went on her monthly trip to Wally World. It was time again to buy toothpaste, but to her dismay she could find no Mentadent refills for the push down dispenser anywhere along the toothpaste aisle. It appeared that Mentadent was no longer made, or less dramatically that it was no longer sold in Walmart.

She called up the boy and told him about her discovery and asked what he would like to try instead. He said he remembered another kind (perhaps from his childhood?) and listed off a mispronounced name, which she corrected as Rembrandt. She then looked to see if the new choice was available, but only found that Rembrandt too was not available (again, at least not at this Walmart).

After a little discussion, the boy told her to just pick one and the phone call was ended. Thus began browsing and a decision that was actually quite difficult. I mean, after using "someone else's" toothpaste for years, it's quite hard to pick one to replace it.

It was especially difficult when the girl couldn't focus because there was another woman sputtering OUT LOUD about the prices of the various toothpastes. Apparently someone had made a request and she went straight to it, but oh my goodness, look at the price!

Anyways, eventually the girl made a choice and went on her way. It's only an option, of course, and after the tube is done, maybe she and the boy will try something else, and then later on they can pick which one they like best- woo freedom of choice!

Or maybe Walmart will start selling Mentadent again.

And yes, the girl does know she could shop elsewhere, but that's just inconvenient.

Plus, in the end the girl... yeah, me... learned something for her L.S.N.E.D. page.
Blessings and Happy Wednesday!
