I’m back in my Virginia home, so glad to see my hubby, but sad to have left the place where my heart is always so content. It was an amazing week and included in the amazing was an awesome baby shower thrown by my Mum and Sister.
They used beach items and rubber ducks to set a fun and adorable scene for friends and family to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my little boy.
The games were great, including a take on a Fair favorite where you picked a duck from the bucket and everyone won a prize based on the number on the bottom of the duck.
The food was delish, including kebabs carefully grilled by my sister and some of my favorite snacks, like watermelon and kettle corn.
The cake was made by Casey’s Aunt Gloria with the assistance of his Mom. It was accompanied by yummy sugar cookies made by my cousin with inscriptions like “Mom to Be” (that one was just for me) and “It’s a Boy!”
At the end of the shower, night had fallen on the yard and things had cooled down, but the smile on my face said it all – the party was a success.
I am so thankful for the effort my Mom and sister put into the party, as well as the help they received from my aunt and cousins in setting up and tearing down, and of course all those who attended and gave generously. It was a thoughtful and joyful celebration and I can’t wait for the little guy to arrive so he can experience the love of our family and friends first hand!
