1. Happy Labor Day! I am going to celebrate it not laboring… not in the work sense and likely not in the baby sense, though at this point it is possible.
2. I had a lovely visit with Mum, Grama, and Karen this weekend. Casey and I picked up Karen after our childbirth class on Saturday and Mom and Grama got here shortly after we got home. We had pizza on Saturday night and yesterday we did some shopping and then Karen made us a yummy dinner at her place.
That description of the weekend makes it sound like most of it revolved around food. Pretty typical, actually.
3. The childbirth class we took was good. I knew a lot of what she talked about, but I like hearing it from a professional and it was good to hear and practice some breathing stuff – even though Casey made me laugh during it, which makes it hard to breath right. I was a little disappointed in the birth films though – they didn’t gross Casey out at all.
4. I am having a hard time reading on other blogs about people’s excitement for fall, and seeing fall images on Tumblr, because it’s still in the upper 80s here with nasty sticky humidity. I’d love to get into the mood for fall, especially since in recent years it’s become a favorite season, but the weather and this bump I’ve got are making it hard.
5. I haven’t packed my hospital bag yet, but hopefully I’ll get it mostly set up by the end of today, as well as some close to final touches in the baby’s room. Pictures of the baby’s room to come!
