I couldn't really remember what I did Friday night until I asked Hubby. He reminded me that we sat in front of the TV and watched movies. This non-remembrance of such acts may be proof that TV rots your brain, though I'd rather believe it was just a much needed break for an overactive thinker.
On Saturday I was supposed to go with Hubby and friends to the Maryland Renaissance Festival, but it rained. Instead we visited a small Irish Festival (it was indoors) in Fairfax and had a late lunch at Hard Times, after which we went to my friend's place and played Apples to Apples and then Smart Ass. Apples to Apples can become quite hilarious and Smart Ass was a lot of fun too- I definitely recommend them both.
Sunday was a pretty quiet day, which was lovely. I got up and went to the 9am service at church, which they've just changed (last week) into a contemporary service. The part about more music was great, but I do admit the no-bulletin part threw me off at first. Although I love the idea of a less structured service that allows individuals to worship in a way that promotes them getting the most out of it, I do love me some structure in the form of a bulletin.
After church I came home and watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Hubby was playing golf, so I was free to thoroughly enjoy this silly, girlie movie. I was also free to cry during the parts that made me miss having my bestest besties nearby. I can't wait until the day I can just wander over to their house to visit and not have it be a ten hour long trip.
Finally, last night was the season premiere of Dexter. I don't know why, but I love this show... although I love it a bit less as the seasons go by because the scenes where he's "taking care of business" make me anxious that he's going to get caught.
Speaking of shows I love: House is AWESOME so far this season. To quote the text my sister sent me after Episode 1: "That s**t ruled. This season is going to kick a*******s."
Sorry for the language; she was (with good reason) excited and probably didn't have time to think of a more, um, sophisticated reaction.
And yes, she did put eight s's in the last word for emphasis.
P.S. I am proud to say that (during the week) I'm only watching particular shows and am spending the rest of my time listening to music while housekeeping and creating. It really does make for a happier me.
Overall, my weekend was pretty swell and I hope yours was too. I'm looking forward to what this week brings- like finishing the Learn Something New project, which I'm not quite caught up on page wise (soooo close though), but am already excited about binding as the pile of pages is thrilling to see.

This has been a really awesome class and I look forward to doing it next year- one of the beauties of Shimelle's classes is you only have to pay for the class once and she'll send you the prompts year after year.
Even though I'm not all the way caught up, I'm thrilled with the stack of pages I do have done and with what I've accomplished through this class. It really causes you to open your eyes to your every day life and see what you can learn from and make of each moment.
And now I'm off to bed because I'm still awake (or maybe I'm sleep blogging) and it's 40 minutes past when I was hoping to get to bed tonight. I was up way too late Monday night and last night was a late one too, so I was hoping to catch up tonight. Aw well, tomorrow is my short day at work and then Friday is my flex day off! Wahoo!
