Deck the halls!

Well, actually, I don't really have any halls. So, Deck the Condo!

I unpacked the rest of the Christmas decorations tonight (except the ornaments- the tree will be this weekend!) and let me tell you, when you move from a tiny one-bedroom apartment to a much larger 2-bedroom condo, the amount of Christmas decorations that you thought was a bit outrageous before doesn't look so excessive anymore!

Even though things do look a bit sparse in the bigger space, I think it looks festive enough... plus, it gives us room to get more items in the many years of our future. This is not an outlook I share with my husband- he thinks we already have too much and can't possibly understand why I even need what we have. Typical.

To start, I added a few mini-bulb ornaments by the Advent calendar. I'm still loving those free jars!

This spot is (obviously) on the kitchen counter. The piece to the left (shown up close below) is my favorite decoration from my childhood. I thankfully inherited it when I first moved away from home and I am so happy to be able to have it in my house. And yes, I kept the sink full of dishes for the picture. But they are clean, so that makes it okay.

This little guy skates around on the glass-ice rink when the music box part is turned on. The magnet that helps him do that is a bit iffy and doesn't always keep him moving anymore, but I definitely don't mind.

I thought the entertainment center looked a little sparse, but really it's fine. And it's definitely a hodge podge. I am way more sentimental than I am matchy matchy, but I think it looks wonderful so na na.

I picked up this adorable trio this summer on a trip to Occoquan with my Mum. I love this line of Christmas decorations. I also have a reindeer with a mouse sitting on it's back and two tiny little lambs.

This is the set of shelves where the manger is set up... again, that's obvious. This photo makes this spot of holiday cheer look a bit bland, but in life it is much better.

Here is the table. I am being brave and have it (mostly) set up. I pray the cats don't decide to pull it all onto the floor.

The place mats are ones I bought last weekend at Anichini. The tablecloth and napkins (seen up close below) were made and given to me by my Grama last year for Christmas. The little bulb ornaments were also given to me last Christmas, but by my Aunt Erica- which is amazing because they match the tablecloth and napkins perfectly!

It's great to have things starting to look like Christmas around here- and sound like it too! If you want to get pumped up to do some decorating, I highly suggest the Trans Siberian Orchestra. I LOVE Wizards of Winter- especially when used like this:

Happy Thursday!
