In Summary

It has been a pretty grand week. Often when I come back from a weekend in Vermont, I’m depressed and grumpy and unproductive during the week following. Not so this week.

I hope it’s not just because I get to go back again next week. I guess we’ll find out if that’s it when I return after that trip and don’t get to go back for a few months.

Part of the grandness of the week was: I didn’t watch much TV. I think the only TV I’ve watched, in fact, is the episode of Top Chef Masters from last week… oh, and the second episode of the Bachelorette, which is fortunately the last one I have to watch because my friend didn’t get a rose. It’s so much better that way, in my opinion. And I did have the TV on while I was working in the kitchen on Wednesday, but just as background noise.

The kitchen is actually where I spent a lot of time this week. On Tuesday night, I made a yummy dinner of pork chops, crash hot potatoes, and corn on the cob. On Wednesday night, Hubs had class, so I just had soup and a quesadilla for dinner, but I chopped lots of fruit for fruit salad, made pico de gallo, and also a marinade for dinner on Thursday. On Thursday night, I made lime chicken topped with pico de gallo and sided with rice. It was a good eating week and I look forward to more like it as the summer goes by.

After dinner and kitchen clean up, I played in the guest room preparing my new everyday journal. I’m painting the inside of the cover and the first page and have a quote to include. I haven’t had a lot of time before bed, so with waiting for paint to dry, it’s taken a few days to get it done. Hopefully I’ll finish it tonight so I can start writing in it!

The only thing we have planned for this weekend is WMZQ-Fest on Sunday. It’s the second concert of the summer and there are going to be lots of artists. I’m glad Hubby is home for this one and I can’t wait to enjoy the day listening to good tunes with him… I just hope it doesn’t rain too much this time!
