Gotta have faith!

Later this evening, history will be made. People keep saying that. "History will be made." But really, history is made every time a president is chosen- not just when one of the candidates has a female for a VP running-mate and the other candidate is half-black. It's history no matter who the candidates are or how many people vote. No matter the details, the decision still changes the course of our American existence. And you can think all the promises made before the final election day mean something, but who is chosen is not the only history made- each day things happen that can change the minds and positions of everyone, including the president.

Now don't think I'm an anarchist or anything like that. Even though I think the excitement over this "history being made" stuff is a little excessive, I did vote for the first time this year and it is kind of nerve wracking to help make a choice on who will govern our country. But I am glad to have been reminded by many people today that no matter what choice I've made, it's more important to have faith in God that the right person will be chosen as our country's leader. After all, God rules all and the president is a small thing compared to what He's got on his plate.

Anyways, that's way more than enough political mumbo jumbo for me. I recognize the importance of the decision, but I'm also incredibly glad all the political commercials will finally come to an end... until next time. And I pray that whatever decision is made about our new president is one blessed by God. Depending on the struggles ahead, we will need more than ever to depend on Him and His grace.

I went to work today and it was definitely good to get out of the condo. My mouth is feeling kind of toxic (gross word choice, but the one that keeps coming to mind) and I'm hoping nothing is infected, but I'm moving on. I've been told that if it was really bad/dry socket, I'd know and not have to question it. I am thankful to have been able to eat more than just yogurt and pudding today- lunch was broccoli cheddar soup from Panera Bread (YUM) and tonight a strange dinner of mashed potatoes and a side of cottage cheese. I'm going to keep it coming with the creamy, minimal chewing stuff at least until the follow-up appointment on Thursday. I look forward to a crisp salad of veggies, shredded cheese, balsamic vinegar, and crushed black pepper... and of course the hamburger with fries I mentioned yesterday... and all the other yummy foods I'm missing right now!

Like I also mentioned yesterday, it's into the entry/dining room/porch closet/kitty box area this week. Today I dusted, swept/cleaned around the kitty box (which lives in the hot water heater closet) and the tiled entry, and organized the shoes in the entry closet. I even got rid of two pairs! Yes of my own. Although there is a questionable pair of flip-flops I'll be asking Hubby about when he gets home.

This evening I've also enjoyed the entertainment of my kitties playing with a little stuffed mouse. It gets stuck in the entry closet and they pulled it out while I was cleaning in there. By "getting stuck," I mean Lucy plays with it on the tiled floor right by the door and it slides under into the closet. I almost think part of her play time is getting it lost under the door. The entertainment, which I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who could possibly enjoy it so much, is when Gracie gets a hold of the mouse and carries it around in her mouth while yowling at the top of her lungs. Don't tell me indoor kitties don't know what their relationship is supposed to be with mice. Unfortunately, my camera is silly and didn't record sound so I don't have video to share.

Don't jump for joy, that's not nice.

Off for now! Blessing to everyone as history is made tonight. ;)

I am glad you voted. It is a hard decision to make as you stand there and wonder what to do. But, finding faith that no matter what God will take care of us is how the country was formed. So, that is how I look at things. :) I have not been bothered too much by the commericals. I skip through them. Even better: Nate bought me the first season of CSI DVD set for Christmas. So, the past three nights we have been watching that.

I am glad to know you are moving up to new foods. It must at least taste better. :) It won't be long, though it must feel that way.

We had to clean under the stove and kitchen drawers the other night. Sam had 3 balls and his 'fill in the hole with yummy treats" toy. He was a happy boy. :)
Have a blessed day,
Auntie Cindy
