Now obviously I'm not the only one traveling today. It is one of the biggest travel days of the year. But all those other people need to just wait until later today to head out. I've got a long trip ahead of me and if they all are out there on the road at the same time, I won't be getting home nearly as fast as I want to. And man, I want to get there fast! It's a long enough trip as it is without having to spend hours in 5MPH traffic.
Okay, I know that is silly and kind of selfish, but truly I am just thankful to have the opportunity and ability to head north to see my family for the holiday. My trip won't be nearly as exhausting as my sister's, who isn't leaving Philly until after her work day is over at 6PM. And she's the only one that can drive because her passenger is from Ireland and has no driver's license. At least I have my Hubby to drive part of the way.
And even though I will probably get frustrated by all the people (in cars) on the road, I'll just smile (after sputtering maybe just a little) and be glad I get to go home. I'll get there (eventually) and when I do, I'll cherish every moment I'm there.
So in an hour I'll be out on the road in my little Honda race car headed up north to that green mountain (though probably kinda white this time of year) state in the Northeast Kingdom called Vermont. It might take 12 hours, but when I finally get there, it will be so worth it and I will thank God for getting us there safely.
I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend. Cherish the moments with whomever you find yourself with. Be thankful and remember those who are without. I'll probably post tomorrow just to say Happy Thanksgiving, but in case I don't, God bless your day and Happy Thanksgiving!
p.s. Mason won last night! Woot woot!
