Yay Tax Day!

For most Americans, April 15th is a bummer of a day. I agree that taxes are a bummer and (for most people) getting them in and done on time is an even bigger bummer. But I tell you, when the day of the deadline finally comes and is over, it's glorious for public accountants and their loved ones.

Hubby has been done with his busy season pretty much since Monday, but today it is officially over. Usually they all get to go golfing in the afternoon, but it was rainy here today so they went to a bar and played pool and darts... and also drank in a celebratory manner. I stopped by after work and hung out for awhile and then we came home so he could change to go out tonight with coworkers to do some more celebrating. Then tomorrow they get the day off and Friday night there's a "tax season is over" party.

All this maybe seems like an over-abundance of celebrating, but with the hours they work during the busy season, they kind of feel the need to make up for all the fun they've had to work through.

I've missed my Hubs a bunch and I'm glad his stressful season is over. I'm really looking forward to spending some serious quality time with him. Hopefully he feels the same way and doesn't want to just watch TV all the time... especially because I'd like to keep at least some quiet time in the after work hours!

Right now, though, what I want even more than quiet is sleep, so off I go to read a bit and then cuddle up into sweet slumber.

Blessings and Happy Wednesday!
